Summary

At present, bookings for venues in the Sports Centre at the University of Leeds are handled manually, using a paper based booking system. Also, during most of the year, bookings must be made in person at the Sports Centre.

It was felt that an online system could offer many advantages, including allowing members to book from any Internet connected computer, and allowing statistics relating to usage of each venue to be easily generated.

Although an online system might be slightly less convenient for the reception staff than the current system, any slight inconvenience would be outweighed by the added convenience of many members making their own bookings, reducing the reception staff's workload considerably.

This report documents the design, implementation, and evaluation of this system, which was an overall success, although did not implement a small number of minor features.
