gradwell dot com (1999-2003)
While studying for my degree, and for about six months before, I did part
time consultancy work for gradwell dot com.
Mostly this was Perl programming work, however it also included some bits
of system administration and customer support. My biggest projects during this time
were writing the mail forwarding system, which is still in use today, the Direct
Debit integration, and a MySQL based DNS management system.
I started working for Blitz Bookings
within weeks of finishing my degree. While the work was mostly challenging and interesting,
and it was a good first job, I realized after a few months that it wasn't the ideal job
for me since it didn't let me use my core skills to their full potential. I started
looking for a job which would let me do Perl development, and work with Unix systems,
and I ended up working for gradwell again.
gradwell dot com (2003-present)
Since November 2003 I have been working for gradwell dot com
as their first full time Systems Developer. The majority of my time has been spent working
on Voice-over-IP systems, including working on the backend systems for
Gossiptel.
